I’m a full-time mixed-media artist, happily married with three grown children, the most lovable dog and two cats. I work from the studio in my home in western North Carolina. I have always been an artist - growing up on the Navajo reservation in Arizona surrounded me with amazing craftsmen and artists and a love and respect of the creative process. Home decor has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy creating things that will add a touch of beauty to your surroundings. While running a Home Decor business, I realized that I wanted to create the decor, so I began making decorative art. That led to the discovery of my love for abstract mixed media art. My paintings are layers of home made papers, plaster and acrylics. I paint intuitively, seldom with an outcome planned.
A few years into that and I purchased my first digital camera, as a way to capture images for my paintings. One thing led to another and I found myself addicted to digital art as well. I love combining the two - taking digital images of parts of my paintings and manipulating them to create my digital art.
Since some of my art translated well to wearable art and other merchandise, I opened a Cafepress shop. I have always loved the styles of Art Deco, Art Nouveau and themes surrounding females. I decided to create images that celebrate the female and my Cafepress shop became Enchanted Girl Apparel & Gifts.
My digital art can be found online at my Imagekind Gallery. Imagekind is an online Fine Art print-on-demand service that takes my digital images and makes a Museum quality “giclee” print.
(A Giclee print is a high quality museum grade print which provides better color accuracy than any other printing method. Images are created using high resolution digital scans of images and premium inks which are sprayed on a variety of substrates (i.e. high quality paper, canvass and photographic paper.) The resulting image has a continuous tone with no noticeable dot pattern.)
