Ashley Long was born in Roswell, New Mexico and grew up on the reservation in Northern Arizona. This start, a vivid imagination and a grandmother who kept her supplied with each Phyllis A. Whitney book that came out, created her love of all things mysterious, mystical and magical. Books and writing were one of her favorite pastimes and she pondered writing a book for many years.
But, life got in the way.
Besides raising three children, she has worked as a Veterinarian assistant, Water Fitness Instructor and Swim Coach, managing an Art Gallery and running her own business specializing in Southwestern Art & Decor.
Her love of writing was rekindled after being talked into attending a workshop led by L. McKenna Donovan.
She thanks her daughter (who made her attend) daily and thinks it to be a very serendipitous occasion.
She now lives in Asheville, North Carolina, where she writes full time in the paranormal, horror and urban fantasy genres.
She is active with the Women Writing in Asheville group, and assisting her muse are two rescue dogs, three cats and the various ghosts of her 100 yr old restored farmhouse.
She is currently working on a urban fantasy linked short series, an urban fantasy romance set in Asheville and writes under the name, Ash Joie Lee.
