Edmund R. Schubert Comes to City Lights for Two Programs

On Saturday, February 28th Edmund R. Schubert, author of more than thirty published short stories and the recently released novel Dreaming Creek , will be at City Lights for both a writer’s workshop and an author’s reading.

The workshop will run from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will reveal the secret realities of getting published in any genre. Schubert will cover everything from the difference between a query letter and a cover letter to selling novels, non-fiction books and short stories to agents, publishers, and magazines. While there is no fee to participate, attendees are asked pre- register by calling the store at 586-9499 no later than Wednesday, February 25th.

After the conclusion of the workshop, Schubert will conduct a reading and booksigning beginning at 4:00 p.m. for his new novel, Dreaming Creek , which tells the story of Danny Wakeman, who has spent sixteen years believing that his childhood friend saved his life after an accident. But Danny’s perspective on the world gets turned inside-out when he and his fiancee drink from the mystical waters of Dreaming Creek, trade bodies, and get stuck that way.

Schubert is the editor of the NC Career Network Magazine and is also the fiction editor of Orson Scott Card’s online science-fiction magazine, entitled Orson Scott Card’s InterGalactic Medicine Show . An anthology from the magazine was published as a book in August, with Schubert as editor.
